Replacing a Flat Tire

When you find that you have a flat tire, it’s important to know how to get the spare onto your car. Once you’re off the road safely with your hazard lights on, there are a few steps to take.

  1. Remove the wheel cap
  2. Loosen the lug nuts with the wrench
  3. Place the jack under the car
  4. Raise the car
  5. Finish removing the lug nuts
  6. Remove the tire from the bolts
  7. Slide the spare onto the lug bolts
  8. Add the lug nuts by hand
  9. Lower the car
  10. Remove the jack
  11. Tighten the lug nuts with the wrench
  12. Place the wheel caps back into position

By following these steps, you can get the spare on so that it can be driven temporarily until you’re able to get a new tire on. At Car City Hyundai, we can get a new tire on and your spare settled back into place.
